UPLOADING TABS & DATA CORRECTION
This guide explains the full GP upload flow in tabs-and-upload.html,
including audio preparation, form completion, CDDB reference, and metadata correction.
01. Prepare Before Upload
Before you upload a GP file, prepare the tab and sound structure first.
Good preparation avoids conversion issues and improves collaboration quality for all members.
- Use clear, unique track names and avoid duplicate track names.
- Keep only necessary tracks when possible to reduce complexity.
- Check basic balance and avoid clipping in your source playback.
- Confirm whether ADD A BAR AT THE BEGINNING OF TABS should be ON or OFF.
02. Upload GP File And CDDB Reference
When you select a GP file, the system may show CDDB/Discogs reference results.
This is a speed helper, not final truth, so always verify details before submission.
- Upload a supported file format: .gp / .mid / .midi.
- Choose a suggested result to auto-fill form fields quickly.
- If no accurate match appears, fill all data manually.
- Treat CDDB values as reference and correct anything wrong.
03. How To Fill The Upload Form
The form defines how members will find and use your tab later.
Clean metadata improves search quality and reduces duplicate uploads.
- Check and edit: Artist / Song Title / Album Artist / Album Title / Album Date.
- Fill language, group, genre, version, and instrument fields correctly.
- Use original-language fields when needed for non-English names.
- Set FADE IN / OUT TIME only when the song really requires fade transition.
- Choose PUBLIC or PRIVATE carefully before confirm.
Cover image affects visual quality in listings and shared pages.
You can keep auto result or replace it with a cleaner custom image.
- CDDB result may fill a default cover image automatically.
- You can click or drag a better image onto the cover area.
- Use clear square artwork when possible for best consistency.
- If the suggested cover is low quality or wrong version, replace it manually.
05. Data Correction Checklist
Before pressing upload, do one final correction pass.
This step prevents bad metadata and helps members trust search results.
- Make sure artist and title belong to the same recording/version.
- Confirm spelling, language, and release date are reasonable.
- Confirm genre/group/version tags are meaningful and searchable.
- Confirm add-bar setting and fade-out setting match the actual song behavior.
06. Submit And After Upload
After submission, the system runs conversion and processing in queue.
Do not re-upload the same file immediately unless the first submission failed.
- Click CONFIRM UPLOAD TAB to submit.
- Processing may take around 10 to 20 minutes depending on queue load.
- Check result in MY RECORD after processing completes.
- If something is wrong, upload a corrected version with clean metadata.
