ADD A BAR AT THE BEGINNING
This feature controls count-in time before the song starts in Project Mixer.
A correct lead-in gives players enough time to prepare and keeps recording timing stable.
01. Why This Is Important
If there is no blank lead-in bar, players may hear no proper countdown before first notes.
That makes punch-in and full-band recording less accurate, especially at fast tempos.
- Without count-in, first notes can start too suddenly for live recording workflow.
- Fast songs need more preparation time than slow songs.
- A clean pre-roll improves timing consistency across members.
02. Recommended Workflow (GP First)
Best practice is to set the beginning structure in Guitar Pro before upload.
Use the upload option as final adjustment, not as the only timing fix.
- Add an empty bar in GP when the song starts immediately on beat 1.
- Check that first playable notes begin after enough count-in time.
- Keep the project structure clear before submitting upload form.
For high-BPM songs, a short count-in can be too fast to follow.
Use slower-feel preparation by extending lead-in bars when needed.
- At high BPM, one click per beat may still feel too rushed.
- Increase lead-in to 2 bars for safer entry timing.
- If players need more preparation, add extra blank bar(s) in GP before upload.
In upload form, ADD A BAR AT THE BEGINNING OF TABS
lets you add server-side lead-in bars when converting the file.
- OFF: no extra bar added by upload system.
- 1: add one lead-in bar.
- 2: add two lead-in bars for faster songs.
- Use higher values only when practical for the recording workflow.
Run this checklist before clicking confirm upload.
It prevents missing countdown issues in later mixer recording sessions.
- GP file already checked for start timing.
- Lead-in bars are sufficient for the song BPM.
- Upload form add-bar option matches your GP structure.
- Fast songs tested with 2-bar entry when needed.
